Lidia’s “Vacation”

The young women God has brought to our Hope House ministry are all unique, special gals.  Lidia is no exception.  Right now, El Salvador is on vacation.  The first week of August is Augustinos, a time of rest and relaxation where many head for the many beaches and lakes.  But Lidia is spending this week reaching out to her own country serving on a mission team.   She and the team are traveling around El Salvador sharing the gospel through song, choreography, drama and special messages.  Lidia’s heart burns with a desire to see the world reached for Jesus, starting with her own country.

Her family is going through a very difficult time right now as her youngest sister, who is 17, has been coerced into a relationship with a gang leader from her village.  She has run away from home and is in open rebellion against her parents.  Her parents and her siblings are reeling.  Their family is very close-knit.  Please be praying as this has affected Lidia very deeply and she has spent many hours crying and grieving.

She is terrified as to what might happen to her beloved sister, Jocelyn.   Lidia has determined to trust God with her sister, as hard as that is, and keep moving forward with her studies and with her passion to serve Jesus.  (She is in her first year of medical school, with a desire to become a medical missionary)

We were blessed to have the opportunity to see Lidia and her team’s presentation at one of their locations, Parque Principito, not far from Hope House, yesterday.
