Hope House Update

First of all, we want to thank all of you who have supported us in the purchase of Hope House.  We are so grateful for all of you who have blessed us with your prayers and financial support.  In this home, God has given us the opportunity to provide a permanent location to minister to the young women in our discipleship/education program. This wonderful home will enable us to continue to raise up “change agents” who will have a lasting impact on their families, communities, and country.  In addition to the ministry to young women, this home also provides us with office space for our dedicated staff who work alongside us in the Hope House program as well as our Daughter Project Girls Club program.

Two years ago, when the owners of the home informed us that they would be selling the house, the thought of owning property here in El Salvador was not even on our minds. We had been happily renting the home for two years, thinking we’d be there very long term in that capacity.  So, when the landlord told us they were selling, our first thought was, “Nooooo, it can’t be!” We knew that we had NO ability to purchase the house.  But quickly, God gave us a sense of peace and we knew we just needed to wait on Him and trust Him.  It was not long before God “opened the windows of heaven” (Malachi 3:10).  He moved on the hearts of His people, and all we could do was stand in amazement and watch as the funds needed to make the down payment started to flood in.  Glory to God!  It truly was miraculous!

At the end of April, we entered into a contract with the owners to purchase the home and with the financial support of our dear partners we paid the down payment.  Part of our agreement is that we will make a balloon payment to pay of the home completely within 5 years, but our hope and our prayer is that we can pay off the home as soon as possible.

Please join us to pray for the completion of the purchase.  The balance we need to raise is only $80,000.  With God, all things are possible!  We know that He is at work on the hearts of those He wants to be a part of helping us complete this commitment.  If you are one of those people, any amount that you can give will be greatly appreciated!

And, please remember that if you are able to give $2,500 or more, we have several beautiful 28″ x 22″ (including frame) paintings still available which have been rendered just for us by Marcelo Mejia Paloma, an extremely talented artist who happens to be a part of our staff!  Marcelo’s love of his country comes through in each lovely painting, and we are thrilled to offer them as a thank you gift to those able to give $2,500 or more towards our house purchase.

If you would like to donate, you can either do so by mail to Hope For Families, P.O. Box 1131, Vancouver, WA, 98685 or online at www.hopeforfams.org   Indicate that the monies are to go towards the house purchase fund, please!

Thank you and may God richly bless you in the coming days, weeks, and months by His presence and His peace.
