Congratulations Clarita!
Clara Guadelupe Diaz came to Hope House at 20 years old with a 7th grade education. She worked so hard, against all odds, and, after 5 years she was able to obtain her high school diploma. Then, Clarita went on to study a two-year course at a local technical university where she received her degree in Tourism.
Over the time she spent with us, we saw Clarita flourish in her relationship with Christ. She came to us with quite a bit of knowledge about God, but she didn’t understand that she could have a relationship with the Creator of the Universe through His Son, Jesus Christ. As she was discipled day by day, we saw her surrender her life to Jesus and blossom and mature. Through our girl’s club program Clarita started a club in her own community where she was able to reach young girls with valuable tools to prevent abuse and trafficking. Most importantly, she was able to point them to a relationship with Christ as the answer to all of life’s questions.
Clarita came to be a leader in the home in every way. The other young women looked up to her, sought her for guidance and listened when she gave them advice. Now, Clarita has returned home where she has become an agent of change in her own family and in her community. Clarita has a job near her family and is able to help support them.
Fast forward!! We are very excited to report to you that Clarita is now happily married to her long-time sweetheart, Marvin. AND…drum roll please…Clarita is expecting her first precious little bundle! We know that Clarita is equipped with everything she needs to raise up the next generation to be Jesus followers, and to break the stronghold of machista culture that has devastated the families of El Salvador for hundreds of years. One family at a time!
It has been such a privilege and a joy to be a part of Clarita’s journey. We want to thank you with all our hearts for giving us what we need to serve Clarita and her family during her stay with us. Your support and prayers have carried us and equipped us as we endeavor to raise up young women with a passion to see “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done” in their own families and in the country of El Salvador. To God be the glory!
